Jordan & Nile (ex By the rivers)
£4
Nile & Jordan (of By The Rivers) Acoustic Covers set.
These two, along with the rest of their band, have made a national name for themselves in the past few years with their original Reggae infused music. Having supported legendary names such as Madness, The Wailers, The Specials, Tarrus Riley, John Holt, to name but a few, these lads have fully cemented themselves in the new Reggae wave that is flooding across the UK. Having played the likes of Glastonbury, Bestival, Boomtown and headlined tours around the UK and Europe, these local Leicester lads will be gracing the stage with songs that have influenced their journey in the Reggae world. From early Bob Marley, The Gladiators, The Congos to the more modern sounds of Ben L’Oncle Soul and The Black Seeds to name but a few.
All they need is an acoustic guitar and two voices, and all you need are your eyes, ears and a beer to come and enjoy this Sunday afternoon with them.

Ricky cool + the in-crowd
£4
In his new line up, Ricky Cool and the In Crowd, Ricky Cool has teamed up with some of the Midlands top players in a six piece band presenting an explosive mixture of ska, bluebeat, rhythm and blues and rock ‘n’ roll, plus entertainment in the inimitable Ricky Cool style. Their music is guaranteed to get your feet itching to dance. The atmosphere they create is reminiscent of the ‘heady’ nights at the legendary Flamingo Club, in London’s West End, hosted by Georgie Fame and the Blue Flames, the hottest band in town.

The bands music is rooted in the traditions of New Orleans, Texas, Chicago and the emerging Jamaican scene of the period. It is delivered with style and passion by some of the Midlands top musicians, fronted by the charismatic Ricky Cool, long regarded as one of the most entertaining front men in the business.

Imagine that rhinestone encrusted jumpsuit flashing in the footlights as the King of Rock and Roll collides head on with the Monsters of Rock in a non stop maelstrom of mega-watt metal mayhem...

£7
The grizzled remnants of some old faces from the Leicester ska / punk scene have been chewed up and spat out to form The Millmen. These days their tone is focused on dance grooves, mainly soul, ska and reggae. There is a fair amount of grit thrown in for good measure. Soaring rocky guitar solos, punky vocals, and a massive 4 piece brass section. To top it all off, expect to be barked at with passionate left wing lyrics and surprised by harsh push-pull progressions. Overall, very groovy, danceable and enjoyable.

Wait 'til The Boys Get Here
The Bay Horse Boys

10 tracks of storytelling weaving between country, blues, rock, bluegrass & murderous Americana noir. Stylistically mischievous, the Boys never settle for formulas & everything is up for grabs in the pursuit of engaging & entertaining the listener. It’s all about the stories all of which are….., well, dear reader, let’s go back to 1979……
Lead singer Simon Feasey leaves England with his brother Ade & heads to Louisiana to be near their mother & find work. They wind up working on off shore oil rigs in the Gulf Of Mexico. The opening track Oil Field Trash describes the hostility & violence surrounding migrant workers (some things never change) & details an all too common incident that the brothers experienced in a bar. The responsibility for another potentially violent mishap lies with the feisty Mr Feasey himself as documented in the confessional Wait ‘til The Boys Get Here
On a happier note, Stranger On The Bayou describes the sheer joy of Louisiana life for our young adventurers & the instant love affair the brothers have with Cajun culture. Friends & girlfriends make an appearance in Jackson Street, a bitter sweet tale of living of the small town American dream.
Two dark tales from older oil field workers provide the screenplay for Gone & The Third Time. These swampy grooves defy genre definition, the stories defy belief but they were passed on by word of mouth & now, slightly embellished, pass into legend via these songs.
Years pass, the Louisiana dream fades & Ade tragically loses his life in a car accident. Simon then writes the ballad South Of Lafayette which bridges the gap between 1982 & the present day.
Simon happens to bring this song to a casual pub session where it has an instant impact on composer/producer/guitarist Lincoln Grounds. More songs appear from the past & along with fellow picker Daniel Hughes something resembling a band is formed & named after the pub The Bay Horse, "the bar by the river....".
The existing songs & basic ideas are further developed & crafted by Simon & Lincoln & the idea of an album is born.
Lincoln adds 3 songs into the mix. Red & The Elephant is the harrowing tale of Mary, a Circus Elephant that killed her handler and was subsequently hung in 1916 in Erwin Tennessee.
Sober Fool is a cautionary Bluegrass infused homage to the Bay Horse pub. A simple celebration featuring Daniels rustic banjo pickin’ & some Mando-guitar tom foolery by the writer.
Finally, Lincoln writes East Tennessee. A different kind of story altogether, lamenting the cycle of human oppression that plagues the world with particular reference to the treatment of Native & African Americans by those who fled Europe in search of freedom.

Dawson Smith & The Dissenters
£3
Based in Leicester, UK for over twenty five years, Dawson Smith is originally from Abertillery, South Wales and has a well earned reputation for fronting great bands and rocking venues all over the UK and beyond. Dawson first made his name as the frontman / songwriter of blues rockers The Healers (’90s). Following The Healers split, Dawson recorded two successful solo albums. Valley Boy (2002) and The River Road (2005). Loads of gigging followed, playing with a flexible band line up. In 2005 Dawson put together THE DISSENTERS with the intention of forming his dream ‘road band’ able to deliver the type of driving swamp blues and rootsy Americana bar room rock & roll that has always been the backdrop to Dawson’s distinctive songs.

Dawson's break through album was 'Took The Night' (2012) which featured a host of guest musicians on specific tracks including a duet with Sally Barker, Lee Spreadbury on Organ and Piano, Mick Ridgeway on Blues Harp and Caroline O'Donnell on Accordion.
On the song 'Mexicalli' Dawson put together an all star brass section with Gaz Birtles (Beautiful South) Drew Stansall (Specials) and John Harris (Welsh Champion).

Dawson Smith & The Dissenters have built an enviable reputation as a smokin’ live band and always a great night out, with a large mailing list and loyal following and an extensive gig circuit around the UK.

There is such depth to Dawson Smith & The Dissenters that it is not easy to describe how they sound. Comparisons with Los Lobos, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Steve Earle, John Hiatt, Blackberry Smoke (and more) are usual and welcomed.

Dawson Smith - Lead Vocals / Rhythm Guitars
Martin Burch - Lead / Slide Guitars
Graham Summers - Drums / Vocals
Andrew Molloy - Bass Guitar

Dawson & The Dissenters take you on a whirlwind trip through the best in rockin’ blues and roots and bring you back Breathless!
Americana UK

Two successful tours with Nashville rocker Tommy Womack (backing and supporting) and gigs with Dan Baird And Homemade Sin (Georgia Satellites) now the yanks are taking Dawson Smith & The Dissenters seriously!

Hey Pixies
Hey Pixies are the UK's most gigantic Pixies tribute band

Formed late 2015 in Manchester by four talented musicians who have each previously notched up many gigs with original and other cover bands. The guys (and gal) came together through their shared love of the Pixies.

A few false starts later, the current line-up of Hey Pixies started intensive rehearsals. 6 months later the gigs started and were enthusiastically received.

They quickly gained attention of promoters across the region and appeared on numerous sold out tribute festivals over the summer. They have gone on to be seen as the best Pixies tribute act in the UK.

Hey Pixies strive for the original authentic Pixies sound and play the classics as close to the original recordings as possible. If you have recently missed the awesome live experience of the Pixies, then no fear - come and see Hey Pixies.

Expect all the timeless indie defining tracks such as Monkey Gone to Heaven, Here Comes Your Man, Debaser and Where is My Mind? As well as a load of loud-quiet-loud magic in the form of Hey, Gouge Away, Holiday Song and…… well you will have to come and see them! Don’t be Tame!
